The market for cell phone cases exceeds the market for cell phones, and is ripe for the dealings of an entrepreneur. Earbuds get tangled, stepped on, and generally abused when dangling from one’s phone or pocket. A retractable cord solves this problem. DaW was called in to design a version that would improve upon available units, achieve uniqueness in the eyes of the patent examiner, and emphasize reliability with minimum size. DaW was awarded the patent.
